ANNA CITY HALL
JANUARY 28 , 1997
The city council of the city of Anna met in regular session
on the 28th day of January 1.997 with the following members
present and participating: Mayor , Ron Ferguson, Bob Estep,
Debbie McIntosh, Lisa Copeland, Joe Murphy. Duane Hayes was
absent from this meeting .
The meeting was called to order at 7 . 30 p .m. by Ron Ferguson.
Debbie made motion on the approval of the Bills , Bob
seconded. Motion carried.
Lisa made motion on the approval of the minutes for December
10th, 17th, 31st , and January 1.4 , 1997 , Joe seconded. Motion
carried.
Brinna Watkins met with the Council regarding the Water
Deposit . She ask that the council not require her to pay the
One Hundred Dollar. Water Deposit that is required due to
financial hardship . Ron stated that Donna had made a work
order to lock the meter . The next reading showed 2160 gallons
used. Donna then sent the crew to lock the meter and at that
time -the renter stated they would contact the office. Ron
stated there were no outstanding bills . The council stated
they could not waive the Deposit . They explained to Brinna
that the Deposit was designed to protect the taxpayers . The
Council. ask if she could make installments on the DeT)osit .
Brinna stated that she was not able to at this time . Brinna
stated she would ask the landlord to put up the Deposit .
The Council ask her to find out this information and bring it
to the next meeting on February 11 , 1997 . Tabled until. -next
meeting on February 11 , 1997 .
Ron presented Reed Barton ' s proposal on street repair . The
suggestion was made to repair the Streets that were in the
most need of repair. Ron stated that we had funds allocated
for Street Repair that need to be put into action. After
some discussion it was suggested that a workshop be held on
February 5 , 1997 at 7 . 30 pm. . Tabled until Workshop on
February 5 , 1997 .
Ron presented a letter regarding address mapping from
Southwest Consultants about the 911 addressing . They are
needing all structures to be correct . The letter states that
no more than 7 or 8 structures are needing correction,
Ron suggested that we correct the ones that are incorrect and
leave -the remainder alone. After some discussion it was
.suggested that they find out the normal procedure tor this .
Tabled until more information is collected.
Ron opened the discussion regarding the Sexual Oriented
Business Ordinance . Debbie presented copies of ordinances
from the surrounding areas . Ron suggested that copies be
made for the council on the information that Debbie
presented . Tabled for further discussion.
The city council recessed into executive session at 9 : 15
p.m. .
The council re-convened into regular session. Debbie made
motion to hire Marie Evans for the City Secretary effective
February 3 , 1997 , Bob seconded. Motion carried.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at
10 : 30 p.m. .
