ANNA CITY HALL
APRIL 1 , 1997
The City Council of the City of Anna met in special session
on the 1st day of April 1997 with the following members
present and participating: Mayor, Ron Ferguson, Bob Estep ,
Debbie McIntosh, Lisa Copeland, Joe Murphy and Duane Hayes .
The meeting was called to order at 7 : 36 p.m. by Ron Ferguson.
Ron asked for any citizen' s participation at this time.
Johnny McBride spoke to the Council regarding the sewer line .
He stated that the City was getting ready to connect sewer to
his house. He stated that he had spoke to the Council before
and told them that no backhoe was going to be put on this
property . He said that Pat agreed to rent a ditch witch.
Joe stated that he spoke to a man today that was bringing a
trencher from Sherman. Johnny stated his concerns for the
ruts that would be made in his yard if they did not wait
until it was dry. Ron stated that this needs to be done
correctly and they need to clean up their mess when they
finish.
Ron stated the City Council will recess into Executive
Session under Texas Government Code Section 551 .071 and
551. 074 of the Texas Open Meetings Act for the following
purpose:
A. Legal :
Ron stated the Council will re-convene into special session
to act on items discussed. There were no items to act on.
Ron asked the Council to discuss and take action regarding
Street Repair . Ron stated that he spoke with Mr. Burk and
the price he quoted was $55. 00 per ton. Duane stated his
concern with patching streets . The Council discussed many of
the streets to repair. Ron stated we need a long range plan
to fix at least one street completely and a completion date.
Ron stated that we need to allocate $8,000 .00 for Mr. Burk
to do this . Bob stated that weather preempting, Mr. Burk
said he could do this in a weeks time. Ron asked the Council
if they wanted to get Mr. Burk to patch these roads for
$8 ,000 . 00 . Debbie made a motion to spend $8 , 000 . 00 to patch
roads , Lisa seconded. Motion carried. Ron asked the
Council , if we can get some bids on some on the streets that
need to be redone? He also asked that if Duane and himself
come up with the funds will the Council vote to repair this?
The Council stated that they would.
This meeting was adjourned at 9 : 50 p.m. .
