ANNA CITY HALL
JULY 8, 1997
The City Council of -the City of Anna met in regular session
on the 8th day of June 1997 with the following members
present and participating: Mayor, Ron Ferguson, Bob Estep,
Debbie McIntosh, Lisa Copeland, Joe Murphy and Duane Hayes.
Item #1
This meeting was called to order at 7:31 p.m. by Ron
Ferguson.
Other present were Johnny McBride, Linda Fleming (CPA Gregg &
Co. ) , T.J. Warren, David Crim and Bill. Roberts (Gay &
McCall) .
Item #3
Ron asked for any citizen' s participation at this time. T.J.
Warren stated his concern on the Powell property that the
City has a lien on. The Council asked Bill Roberts to
research this issue.
Item #4
The City Council met with the City Attorney, Bill Roberts to
discuss and take action as needed on. several, items. The City
Limits Boundaries. The Council asked Bill to follow through
with this problem and to find out who had what boundaries
first. The final item to discuss was proposed agreement with
Southwestern Bell . Bill stated the Contract was fine but we
should check with neighboring cities regarding current
Franchise fee' s and summit a formal request to Southwestern
Bell on how they developed there rate structures.

The City Council met with Linda Fleming from Gregg & Company
regarding the 1.996 Financial Audit. Linda stated that the
Audit went very well. . Debbie McIntosh made a motion to
accept the 1996 Financial Audit, Lisa Copeland seconded.
Motion carried 5/0/0. Debbie McIntosh made a motion to take
action on the recommendation in Exhibit A of the Financial
Audit for 1996, Lisa Copeland seconded. Motion carried
5/0/0 .
Item #6
The City Council met with Edie Kemp to discuss and take
action as needed regarding her Water Bill. Ms. Kemp stated
that her water usage was extremely high and she didn't have
any leaks. Ricky Dawes, Water Superintendent stated that they
put a new water meter in because the previous one was old.
Joe Murphy made a motion to have the Water Clerk to use the
July reading as the base for the refund and go back for six
months, Lisa Copeland seconded. Motion carried 5/0/0.
Item #7
The City Council discussed Item V, Ordinance on citizen' s
over 65 tax exemption. Debbie made a motion to pass
Ordinance 97-08, Joe Murphy seconded. Motion carried 3/2/0 ,
Item #8
The City Council tabled Item #8, to discuss and take action
as needed regarding the Virginia Rhea property, duo, to the
fact they needed more information,
Item #9
The City Council met with Ricky Dawes, Water Superintendent
for -the monthly reports.
Item #10
Lisa Copeland made a motion to approve the Bills, Debbie
McIntosh seconded. Motion carried 5/0/0 .
Item #11
Lisa Copeland made a motion to approve the Minutes for June
24, 1997, Debbie McIntosh seconded. Motion carried 4/1/0.
Duane Hayes abstained because he was not present at the June
24th meeting.
Item #12
There being no further business this meeting was adjourned at
9 :40 p.m. .
