ANNA CITY HALL
AUGUST 12, 1997
The City Council of the City of Anna met in regular session
on the 12th day of August with the following members present
and participating: Mayor, Ron Ferguson, Bob Estep, Debbie
McIntosh, Lisa Copeland, Joe Murphy and Duane Hayes.
Item #1
This meeting was called to order at 7:32 p.m. by Ron
Ferguson.
Others present were Johnny McBride, Tommy Cunningham, Burl
Cunningham, Ricky Dawes, Joel Foltz and Joe Jaynes.
Item #3
Ron asked for any Citizen's participation at this time.
Johnny McBride asked if we could get Code Enforcement to take
a look at the lot next door to him. He stated that the grass
was very tall .
Item #4
The City Council. met with Tommy Cunningham to discuss and
take action as needed regarding the Final Plat approval. Bob
Estep made a motion to approve the Final Plat of -the Earl
Powell Addition, Joe Murphy seconded. Motion carried 5/0/0.
The Council noted that the Easement will need to be released
for Sewer Lines before Building Permits can be issued.
Debbie McIntosh made a motion -to delete the 1962 Earl Powell
Plat, Volume 4, August 8, 1962, Joe Murphy seconded. Motion
carried 5/0/0.
Item #5
The City Council discussed a Franchise Tax Ordinance for
Grayson Collin Electric and South Grayson Water. Item #5 was
tabled until more information is brought forward.
Item #6
The City Council discussed the proposed agreement with
Southwestern Bell . The Council asked the City Secretary to
send a let-ter asking for one of their Representatives to
attend one of the meetings to explain the rate. Item #6 was
tabled until further notice from Southwestern Bell .
Item #7
The City Council discussed the letter that the Anna ISD sent
regarding the one way street on Sherley Street. Duane Hayes
made a motion to make Sherley Street one way from 7th street
to FM455 between 7:00 a.m. 4 :00 pm. and to make 7th Street
east one way between 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and 2 :00 p.m. -
4:00 p.m. , Lisa Copeland seconded. Motion carried 5/0/0.
Item #8
Debbie McIntosh made a motion to adopt -the 1997 Southern
Building Codes, Lisa Copeland seconded. Motion carried
4/1./0.
Item #9
Bob Estep made a motion -to change the Council meetings back
to once a month, Joe seconded. Motion didn' t carry 2/3/0 .
Item #10
Duane Hayes made a motion to approve the Bills, Lisa Copeland
seconded. Motion carried 5/0/0.
Item #11
The City Council met with Water Superintendent, Ricky Dawes.
Ricky stated -that the riding lawnmower had been stolen,
Debbie McIntosh made a motion to spend no more than $2500 .00
for a mower, Lisa Copeland seconded. Motion carried 5/0/0.
Lisa Copeland made a motion 'to repair the 421 Tank for
$14,850.00, Debbie McIntosh seconded. Motion carried 5/0/0.
Item #12
Debbie McIntosh made a motion to approve the Minutes for July
22, 1997, Lisa Copeland seconded. Motion carried 4/1/0.
Duane Hayes abstained because he wasn't at this meeting.
Item #13
There being no further business this meeting was adjourned at
9 :27 p.m. .
