The public hearing is in regard to the submission of an application to the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs for a Texas Community Development Program (TCDP) grant. The purpose of this meeting is to allow citizens an opportunity to discuss the citizen participation plan, the development of local housing and community development needs, the amount of TCDP finding available, all eligible TCDP activities, and the use of past TCDP funds. The City encourages citizens to participate in the development of this TCDP application and to make their views known at this public hearing. Citizens unable to attend this meeting may submit their views and proposal to The Honorable Ronald R. Ferguson, Mayor, at City Hall. Persons with disabilities that wish to attend this meeting and need assistance should call Ms. Marie Evans, City Secretary, at 972/924-3325, to arrange for assistance. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of ANNA desires to develop a viable urban community, including decent housing and a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities, principally for persons of low/moderate income; and WHEREAS, it is necessary and in the best interests of the City of ANNA to apply for funding under the 2001 Texas Community Development Program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS: 1. That a Texas Community Development Program application for the Housing Infrastructure Fund is hereby authorized to be filed on behalf of the City with the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs--TCDP. 2. That the City's application be considered for funding under the Housing Infrastructure Fund. 3. That the application be for $ 400,000.00 of grant funds to cant' out water/sewer system improvements, street pavina. and drainage. 4. That the City Council directs and designates the Mavor as the City's Chief Executive Officer and Authorized Representative to act in all matters in connection with this application and the City's participation in the Texas Community Development Program. 5. That it further be stated that the City of ANNA is waiving water and sewer tap fees valued at $115.500.00 as an in -kind contribution toward the construction activities of this water/sewer system improvements, street paving, and drainage project.
