MINUTES
CITY OF ANNA
SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
August 4, 2004 7:00 PM
City Hall/101 N. Powell Parkway, Anna, Texas
The City Council of the City of Anna met in Special Session at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August
4, 2004, at the Anna City Hall, located at 101 N. Powell Parkway (SH 5), to consider the
following items:
1. Call to Order.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kenneth Pelham at 8:10 p.m.
2. Roll Call and Establishment of Quorum.
Mayor Kenneth Pelham and council members J. W. Finley, John Geren, Mark Montgomery, and
Lynn Mosier were present; council member Chris Caldwell was absent.
3. EXECUTIVE SESSION: Under terms of Chapter 551 of Texas Government Code the
City Council may enter into CLOSED SESSION or Executive Session to discuss the
following:
A. Personnel:
To deliberate the employment of the position of Chief of Police and Public Works
Director of the City of Anna, Texas. (Government Code, Section 551.074)
Mr. XXXXXXXX moved that the council enter into closed session. Mr. XXXXXX seconded the
motion, which passed by a vote of 5-0. The council entered into closed session at 8:15 p..m.
Mr. XXXXXX moved that the council close the executive session. Mr. XXXXX seconded the
motion, which passed by a vote of 5-0. The council entered into open session at XXXXX.
4. Consider and act upon items listed under Item 3 Executive Session, as necessary.
Mr. XXX moved that the Mayor and city staff attempt to negotiate acceptable terms of
employment with Mr. Charles Mathews for the position of Police Chief and with Mr. James
Parkman for Public Works Director. Mr. XXX seconded the motion, which passed by a vote of
4-0.
5. Adjourn.
Mr. XXXX moved that the meeting be adjourned. Mr. XXXX seconded the motion, which
passed by a vote of 4-0. The meeting was adjourned at XXXX.
