ANNA PARK BOARD
REGULAR MEETING
Monday,June 21,2010
The Park Board of the City of Anna held a regular meeting on Monday,June 21,at 7:00 p.m.in the
Community Room of the Anna City Hall Administration Building,located at 111 North Powell
Parkway (Hwy 5),to consider the following items.
1.Call to order at 7:01 pm and establishment of quorum.Park Board members present were
Jon Hendrix,Mic-hael Watkins and Rachel Lyon.Maurice Schwanke and Becky Glover were
also present.'
2.Maurice Schwanke gave a presentation.He reported that the softball league was going
well.The results of games are now posted on the website.A gazebo is being proposed as a
donation to Natural Springs Park.Mr.Schwanke is planning to ask for approval from the
County to use grant money to continue the trail up towards Rattan Elementary.The school
may donate five acres behind the school.There are plans to build sidewalks above the
current sewer lines which will be redirected in the future ..
3 -4.In discussing the future of Sherley Park and Johnson Park,the parks board members
agreed that only minimal effort should be put into those parks and the major efforts should
be put toward Greer Park.The parks board agreed that the older smaller parks should be
.used for something that requires less space and less parking such as tennis or basketball
courts.Additionally at Sherley Park there ,is a safety issue with kids running out into the
street.
5.The softball league has nine teams and is moving to two officials per game.The main
official receives $20 per game and the other $15 per game.There are two games per night.
The Monday night games are posted in the website on Tuesdays.
6.Michael Watkins made a motion to accept the minutes of May 17,2010 and Rachel Lyon
seconded the motion.
7.Rachel Lyon made a motion to adjourn.Michael Watkins seconded.Motion carried.
Meeting adjourned at 7:45.
