ANNA PARK BOARD
REGULAR MEETING
Monday, June 20, 2011
The Park Board of the City of Anna held a regular meeting on Monday, June 20, 2011, at 7:00
p.m. in the Community Room of the Anna City Hall Administration Building, located at 111 North
Powell Parkway (Hwy 5), to consider the following items.
1. Call to order at 7:02 pm and establishment of quorum
Park Board members present were Kelly Bailey, Jon Hendrix, and Rachel Lyon. Maurice
Schwanke was also present.
2. Park Updates
The softball league is underway, with certified ASA officials. Another team has expressed
interest in playing but we decided that rather than let them join the exiting league late we
would wait to see if there were enough other teams to start a second league.
Slayter Creek — We were able to get a contractor to finish the trails at a reasonable price.
3. Smart Scape Garden
Becky Glover talked to some people about them taking on the project but so far no one has
taken that responsibility.
4. Collin Country Open Spaces Grant
The City will be applying for grants to construct a trail from Oak Hollow around Pecan Grove
and under the new Collin County Outer Loop and a new trail from Hackberry to West White
Street. The Park Board recommends that we keep the trail along the west side of Slayter
Creek adjacent to the Willow Creek housing addition.
Concession Stand — Maurice will come up with a budget to bid on equipment at auction to
supply the concession stand.
5. Park Board Minutes — None.
6. Adjourn
Kelly Bailey made a motion to adjourn. Rachel Lyon seconded. Motion carried. Meeting
