ANNA PARK BOARD
REGULAR MEETING
Monday, July 18, 2011
The Park Board of the City of Anna held a regular meeting on Monday, July 18, 2011, at 7:00
p.m. in the Community Room of the Anna City Hall Administration Building, located at 111 North
Powell Parkway (Hwy 5), to consider the following items.
1. Cali to order at 7:05 pm and establishment of quorum. Park Board members present were
Kelly Bailey, Jon Hendricks, Erin Cogar, Lauren Lovato and Rachel Lyon. Maurice
Schwanke and Becky Glover were also present.
2. Park Updates.
Two Grant Applications have been submitted to Collin County.
a. One grant is for a land acquisition for Slayter Creek. It is to the north and
would include both sides of the creek. The trail must end on the east side.
b. The Second Grant is also a land acquisition. It is to the south and would take
less prep work so work could begin sooner.
Memorial Bricks — two memorial bricks have been placed in Slayter Park, one for Earl
Wood and the other for John Baldwin.
Letter to the Editor — Debbie Reutelhuber wrote a letter to the editor thanking the City on
their work on Natural Springs Park.
3. Discussion of Future Projects —The CDC made a commitment to match two grant proposals
that was submitted to Texas Parks and Recreation. The Parks Board recommends that if
money could be made available from the CDC the priority should be to use it for Phase II of
Slayter Creek because it would yield the most return on our investment and finish the
project.
4. Park Board Minutes of April 25 and June 20, 2011. Erin Cogar made a motion to accept the
minutes. Rachel Lyon seconded it. The motion carried.
5. Adjourn —Rachel Lyon made a motion to adjourn. Erin Cogar seconded. Motion carried.
Meeting adjourned at 8:01 pm.
