MINUTES
ANNA DIVERSITY & INCLUSION ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING
ANNA CITY HALL, 111 NORTH POWELL PARKWAY
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2020, 6:00 PM
The Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Commission of the City of Anna held its regular
meeting on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was held at Anna City
Hall located at 111 North Powell Parkway (Hwy 5) to consider the items below.
1. Call to Order, Roll Call and Establishment of Quorum.
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. Members present included Pete
Cain, Dyanne Lockridge, Curtis Scretchen, Amanda Kellam, Lottia Windham,
Roxxanne Aragon, Elinor Williams, Mark Mahar, Kathryn Ross, Malverse
Jackson, and Kimberly Jones. Staff present were Ryan Henderson and Kimberly
Winarski. Mayor Nate Pike, Council Member Lee Miller, and Council Member
Josh Vollmer. No board members were absent.
2. Invocation and Pledge.
3. Neighbor Comments.
4. New Commission Member Welcome and Orientation.
5. Consider/Discuss/Act on adopting rules of procedure.
After discussion, a motion was made by Dyanne Lockridge and seconded by
Pete Cain to approve the rules of procedure for the board. The vote was 11-0
and the motion carried.
6. Consider/Discuss/Act on creating a mission statement.
Members provided their input on different ideas for the mission statement. No
motion was made on the mission statement at this meeting.
7. Consider/Discuss/Act on establishing subcommittees.
Members had a discussion on potential subcommittees for the board to create,
with focuses including: emergency services, personnel policies, community
events and programming, business and commerce, community concerns,
immigration and citizenship, and youth.
8. Staff reports.
Persons with a disability who want to attend this meeting who may need assistance should

that appropriate arrangements can be made.

a. Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary elections: Chair, Vice Chair, and
Secretary elections will occur at our next meeting.
b. Setting the next meeting time: Our next regular meeting conflicts with
election day. A poll will be sent out to the board to determine an
appropriate day and time to change our meeting to.
c. Neighbor Notes: All board members should now be receiving Neighbor
Notes.
9. Adjournment.
The meeting adjourned at 7:57 p.m.
