RESOLUTION NO. 2009-12-01
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
'rHE CITY MANAGER TO ACT ON THE CITY'S BEHALF IN EXECUTING A
CONTRACT WITH SCOBILT CONTRACTORS, INC. FOR POLICE AND CUSTOMER
SERVICE FACILITY REMODEL
WHEREAS, the City Council ("City Council") of the City of Anna, Texas ("City") duly
invited bids for Police and Customer Service Facility Remodel construction contract
Bid No. 09-01 PD in compliance with all applicable laws and now desires to award the
contract for such construction services to the lowest responsible bidder, SCOBILT
CONTRACTORS, INC. ("ScoBilt") to provide said construction and remodeling services; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the bid submission of ScoBilt was the
lowest responsible bid and that contracting with ScoBilt will benefit the health, safety
and welfare of the citizens of the City and the general public in providing for construction
remodeling services to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that a contract between the City and ScoBilt
should be approved and the City Manager's execution of same should be authorized as
set forth herein.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANNA, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. Recitals Incorporated.
The recitals above are incorporated herein as if set forth in full for all purposes.
Section 2. Approval and Authorization of Contract.
The City Council hereby awards a contract for construction services not to exceed the
base bid price of $197,000 to ScoBilt, subject to change order if duly allowed by law,
with said award being subject to the finalization of the contract and contract documents
related to the project; and the City Council further directs and authorizes the City
Manager and City Attorney to finalize the contract and contract documents and
authorizes the City Manager to execute same on behalf of the City Council, subject to
his approval and approval as to the form of same by the City Attorney.
