RESOLUTION NO. 2011~6~4
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS, COLLIN COUNTY, STATE OF
TEXAS, DESIGNATING THE MONTH OF JUNE 2011, AS FAIR HOUSING MONTH
AND SUPPORTING FAIR HOUSING ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE CITY.
Whereas, Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, as amended, prohibits discrimination
in housing and declares it a national policy to provide, within constitutional limits, for fair
housing in the United States; and
Whereas, the principle of Fair Housing is not only national law and national policy, but a
fundamental human concept and entitlement for all Americans; and
Whereas, the City desires to develop a community that offers an opportunity for each
citizen to obtain fair housing without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sex,
familial status, and/or physical and mental handicap through fair, orderly, and lawful
procedures; and
Whereas, the City recognizes that the denial of fair housing for each citizen through
considerations based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, and/or
physical and mental handicap is detrimental to the health, safety, and welfare of the
inhabitants of the City and constitutes an unjust denial or deprivation of such rights
which is in the power and proper responsibility of government to prevent; and
Whereas, the City desires to affirmatively further fair housing.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANNA:
The City of Anna hereby proclaims the month of June, 2011, as Fair Housing Month in
the City of Anna and all citizens are encouraged to join activities designed to further the
fair housing objectives otTitle VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, as amended.
PASSED and adopted by the City Council of the City of Anna, Texas, on this the 14th
day of June, 2011.

I, Darren Driskell , do hereby appoint Natha Wilkison
as the Fair Housing/Equal Opportunity Standards Officer for the City of Anna . The Fair
Housing/Equal Opportunity Standards Officer shall be responsible for the oversight and
compliance of fair housing and equal opportunity activities to be performed by the City of Anna as
required by the Texas Community Development Block Grant Program.
The Fair Housing/Equal Opportunity Standards Officer should be familiar with all civil rights laws
and regulations pertaining to the Texas Community Development Block Grant Program, including
those described on page 8-3 of this manual and those listed on Exhibit D of the TxCDBG
contract.
