RESOLUTION NO. 2011-07-06
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO ACT ON THE CITY'S BEHALF IN EXECUTING A CONTRACT WITH
DICKERSON CONSTRUCTION CO., INC. FOR THE TEXAS COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM WATER LINE PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City of Anna, Texas (the City) has been awarded a $350,000 grant through
the Texas Community Development Block Grant Program (the "Grant Program"); and,
WHEREAS, the Grant Program will fund the replacement and construction of waterlines on
the east side of Powell Parkway (the "Project"); and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the of the City of Anna, Texas (the City Council) authorized
the Staff to solicit competitive bids for the Project; and,
WHEREAS, the City, having solicited competitive bids in accordance with State law, opened
said bids on June 28, 2011; and,
WHEREAS, Dickerson Construction Co., Inc. is the apparent low bidder on the base project
having submitted a base bid of $380,372; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to award the Project bid to Dickerson Construction Co.,
Inc. and execute a contract between the City and Dickerson Construction Co., Inc. for the
Project;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANNA, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. Recitals Incorporated.
The recitals above are incorporated herein as if set forth in full for all purposes.
Section 2. Approval and Authorization of Contract.
The City Council hereby approves the Contract attached hereto as Exhibit 1 for the Texas
Community Development Block Grant Program Water Line Project, and authorizes, ratifies
and approves the City Manager's execution of same. The City Manager is hereby
authorized to execute all documents and to take all other actions necessary to finalize, act
under and enforce the Contract.
