HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-02-08 Regular Meeting MinutesCity Council Meeting Anna High School Portable 9 February 8, 2004 The City Council of the City of Anna met in regular session on the 8th day of February. item #1 Mayor Ron Ferguson called this meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.. Item #2 The following members were present and participating: Mayor Ron Ferguson, Joe Murphy, Joel Foltz and Bob Estop. Lisa Copeland and ©wane Hayes were absent from this meeting. Others present were Bret Boone; Don Ward, Johnny McBride, Anthony Geer and Donna Gonzales. Item #3 Mayor Ron Ferguson asked for any Citizen's Participation at this time. Johnny McBride stated his concerns regarding a large pothole by his house. Anthony Geer wanted to thank the Mayor and City Council for all the hard work that they do. Item #4 Bob Estop made a motion to send a letter to Mr. Baldwin giving him 30 days to pay the past due sewer bill of $2500. If it is not paid within this time frame then it will be turned hack over to the collection agency. Joe Murphy seconded the motion. The motion carried 3/010. Item #5 Bob Estop made a motion to adopt the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement with Collin County to continue participating in road and bridge maintenance. Joe Murphy seconded the motion. The motion carried 31010. Item #6 Joe Murphy made a motion to adopt a resolution supporting the 2012 Olympics. Joel Foltz seconded the motion. The motion carried 310/0. Item #7 The City Council held discussion regarding a new backhoe. This item was tabled so that bids specifications can be prepared. ltem #8 Joe Murphy made a motion to approve the minutes for January 111h and January 25, 2000. Bob Estep seconded the motion. The motion carried 310/0. Item #9 Bob Estep made a motion to approve the bills. Joe Murphy seconded the motion. The motion carried 310/0. Item #10 The City Council held on the future capital water improvements. This item was tabled. Item #11 The City Council recessed into Executive Session under Texas Government Code Section 551.071 and 551.074 of the Texas Open Meeting Act for the following purpose: Personnel: Employee's Salary Review Item #12 The City Council reconvened into regular session to act on items discussed in executive session. Joe Murphy made a motion to increase Marie Evans 50 cents per hour, Garry Gonzales 50 cents per hour, Curtis Elder 50 cents per hour, Donna Litterll 25 cents per hour and Sue Griffin 85 cents per hour. Bob Estep seconded the motion. The motion carried 3/0/0. Item #13 Joe Murphy made a motion to adopt Ordinance No. 2000-03, an Ordnance of the City Council of the City of Anna, Texas, calling a regular Municipal Election for the purpose of electing three members of the City Council, Places 2,3, and 4 for May 6, 2000, designating a polling place; appointing an Election Judge; providing for the filing of applications to be placed on ballot; providing for Early Voting; providing for notice of said election and finding and determining that the meeting at which this Ordinance was adopted was open to the public as required by law. Joel Foltz seconded the motion. The motion carried 310/0. Item #14 The City Council met with the Water and Wastewater Superintendent. He stated his concerns regarding the Sewer plant. The Council asked that this item be tabled and a meeting to be set up with GTUA and the City Council. Item #15 The Council held discussion on the procedures of the Anna Community Development Corp, There was no action taken on this item.
