ORDINANCE NO. 9 6 - i 3
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANNA PRESCRIBING MANDATORY
CONNECTION TO THE CITY OF ANNA SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the City of Anna has provided for the collection and treatment of wastewater to
promote the health, safety, and convenience of its citizens and for the safeguarding of water
resources common to all; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS
Section 1. Connection to City Sanitary Sewer Required
All building improvements that exist or are constructed within two hundred (200) feet of the
city's sanitary sewer system shall be required to connect to the city sanitary sewer system within a
period not to exceed ninety (90) days from the date sewer service is available at that point. If
improvements are constructed at an elevation where gravity flow into the city's system is
impossible, then a sump pump or ejector type pumping system must be installed by the property
owner to deliver wastewater generated at the improvement location into the city's system.
Building improvements at which no wastewater is generated are exempted from this provision.
Section 2. Penalties
Any violation of any of the terms of this ordinance shall be deemed a misdemeanor. Any person
convicted of any such violation shall be fined in an amount not to exceed two thousand dollars for
each incidence of violation. Each day of the continuance of such violation shall be considered a
separate offense and be punished separately.
Section 3. Repeal Clause
All parts of any ordinance in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are to the extent of
such conflict hereby repealed.
Section 4. Savings Clause
If any provision of this ordinance shall be held to be invalid or unconstitutional, the remainder of
such ordinance shall continue in fiaU force and effect the same as if such invalid or unconstitutional
provision had never been a part hereof.

Section 27. Effective Date
This ordinance shall be effective upon the publication of its caption as required by law and the
City Secretary is hereby directed to implement such publication.
