HomeMy WebLinkAboutPBmin2023-01-23-rt TF [ FTY OF Anna Minutes Anna Parks Advisory Board Meeting Monday, January 23rd, 6:00 pm Anna Municipal Complex, 120 W. 71h Street MINUTES ANNA PARKS ADVISORY BOARD MEETING Monday, January 23rd @ 6:00 PM Municipal Complex, City Council Conference Room 120 W. 7th Street, Anna, TX 75409 The Parks Advisory Board of the City of Anna met at 6:00 PM, on January 23rd, 2023, at the Municipal Complex, Executive Conference Room, located at 120 W. 7th Street, to consider the following items: 1. Call to Order, Roll Call and Establishment of Quorum Parks Advisory Board Member Eirik Hansen called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. Parks Advisory Board Member Jon Schwyzerwas absent. Staff present included Assistant Director of Neighborhood Services Jeff Freeth, Neighborhood Services Director Marc Marchand, Park Planning and Development manager Dalan Walker, Parks Superintendent Matt Lewis, Assistant to the City Manager Kimberly Winarski and City Council Member Stan Carver. 2. Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance Parks Advisory Board Member Eirik Hansen led the Pledge of Allegiance. 3. Reports a. Kimberly Winarski, Assistant to the City Manager, reported on the results of the Anna community survey. b. Parks Superintendent Matt Lewis reported on Parks Maintenance including adding new rod iron fence and pergola with a swing Natural Springs Park, repaired water lines and light sensors in restrooms at Baldwin Park, stained all park entrance signs. c. Assistant Director of Neighborhood Services Jeff Freeth reported on recreation programs and events including working on youth baseball and softball registration creating the spring recreation guide. 4. Project Updates a. Park Planning and Development manager Dolan Walker provided an update on the Johnson Park field lighting project has moved into the construction phase. b. Park Planning and Development manager Dalan Walker provided updates on the following projects at Slayter Creek Park: Poured concrete pad for fitness station. Splash Pad plans are completed and a sanitary sewer engineer has been hired to assess getting lines in for the bathrooms. Plans for wheeled sports park are 60% complete. Parking lot expansion is planned to be bid in beginning of 2023. 6. Individual Consideration a. Discuss the Community Recreation Task Force roles and responsibilities (Project Advocate). Minutes Ttrn crr) Or Anna Parks Advisory Board Meeting Anna Monday, January 23rd, 6:00 pm Anna Municipal Complex, 120 W. 7th Street Project Advocate representatives showed a list of companies to work with and two were decided upon to continue reaching out to and schedule interviews. City of Anna Staff have stated they will be reaching out to a few more people to finalize committee members. bI Discuss, Consider, Act on potential park land dedication. MOTION: Elden Baker made a motion to acquire 30 new acres of park land off Foster Crossing and Jeff - Reece seconded. Motion carried. 6.
