MINUTES
SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
The City Council of the City of Arena met in Special Session at 7.40 p.m., Tuesday May
14, 2002, at the Anna City Hall, located at 120 W. 4`h Street, Anna.
1. Mayor Ron Ferguson called this meeting to order at T05 p.m.
2. Mayor Ron Ferguson and Mayor Pro Tem Joe Finley were present along with
Election .fudge Peggy Hall.
3. Canvass the City Election held May 4, 2002.
Pursuant to Texas Election Code, Section 67.009, only tx°o officers are need for a quorum for a
canvassing meeting.
Judge Peggy Hall gave the sealed envelopes containing the ballot tally sheets to
Mayor Ferguson. The tally sheets were examined and counted.
The certified results of the City Election were as follows:

Place 2 J. W. Finley Jr. (uncontested) 86 votes
Place 3 Mark Montgomery 95 votes
Lisa Smallwood Copeland 30 votes
Robert Hamilton 30 votes
Place 4 Brenda Tilley 65 votes
John R. Geren 89 votes
Economic Development (4th) Sales Tax Measure Yes 101 votes
No 49 votes
Street Maintenance/Repair Sales Tax Yes 121 votes
No 31 votes
Mayor Ferguson Issued the Certificate of Election.
4. Newly elected council members were sworn in by Mayor Ferguson and took the
Oath of Office.
