City Council Meeting
July 2, 2002
The City Council of the City of Anna met in Special Session on the 2nd day of July,
2002, at the Anna City Hall, 120 W. Fourth Street, Anna, TX 75409
Call to Order
Mayor Ron Ferguson called the meeting to order at 6;301 p.m.
2_ Rall Call
The following members were present and participating: Mayor Ron Ferguson, Mr.
Joe Finley, Jr., Mr. John Geren, Mr. Mark Montgomery, and Mr. Lynn Dhane, Mr.
Lynn Mosier was absent. Also present was as staff support was Mr. Lee
Lawrence, City Administrator.
Collin County Paris Grant Application
Mr. Lawrence was recognized and said that Anna Park Board had met and
discussed in detail a park grant application to the Collin County Park and Open
Space Foundation. A proposed site on the west side of the Anna High School
location had been identified as a community park site. A site plan was shown to
the council. The project would be divided into two phases. The first phase would
include the infrastructure work (utilities, access road, parking, etc.) as well as two
lighted ball fields, a concession/bathroom building, two soccer fields, a
playground, horseshoe pits, and shuffleboard area. Phase 2 would include a
skatepark, two tennis courts, a basketball court, additional playground area,
picnic tables, and park benches. A copy of the proposed budget is attached to
these Minutes.
Mr. Lawrence said that a resolution was required indicating the council's approval
and support of the project. A copy of the proposed resolution was submitted to
the council. Mr. Joe Finley moved that Resolution 2002-17 be approved. Mr.
Mark Montgomery seconded the motion, which passed by a vote of 4-0.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:51 p.m.
