SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
The City Council of the City of Anna met in Special Session at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, August 24,
2002, at the Anna City Mall, located at 120 W. 4`" Street.
Call to Order
Mayor Ferguson called this meeting was called to order at 9:03 a.m.
2. Roll Call
Mayor Ron Ferguson, Mayor Pro Tem Mark Montgomery, Joe Finley Jr., Lynn Dhane
and Mark Montgomery were present. Lynn Mosier was not in attendance.
3. Purchase of South Grayson Water Supply Corporation water line, including
approximately 9100ft. of 6" and 4000ft. of 1-1f2 line, along and near County Road 425.
Mr. Lawrence reported the County has started reconstruction CR 425 to make 24'
standard paved roads. The City has water line on both sides of the roadway but mainly
on the west side. These lines were poorly laid and are extremely close to the surface of
the road and the County has basically told the City to move the lines. The Mayor
suggested that we talk to South Grayson regarding their water lines and we have
subsequently learned that they are willing to sell their lines to the City of Anna for
$35,200.00. The City will also obtain the service rights to 11 customers, the CCN`s and
easements. (Refer to attached letter S map). Mr. Lawrence has spoken with Anna's
CCN attorney in Austin and he is in communication with the CCN attorney for South
Grayson.
Mr. Lawrence stated he has also spoken to South Grayson about the lines in the area of
Anna Lake Estates and they are willing to negotiate with the City.
Mr. Finley made a motion to purchase these lines contingent upon the approval of the
CCN attorney, and authorized the city administrator to proceed with negotiation of other
water lines from South Grayson Water Supply. Mr. Montgomery seconded the motion.
The motion carried unanimously.
4. Adjourn
The meeting was adjourned at 9:23 a.m.
