ORDINANCE NO. 194-2005
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. 2002-44 WHICH ADOPTED THE 2000 EDITION OF THE
INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE, BY REVISING CHAPTER 3 (GENERAL
PRECAUTIONS AGAINST FIRE), PROVIDING A REPEALER CLAUSE;
PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the need for revising the City's existing electrical
code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has received recommendations for said revisions from qualified
professionals in the building inspection trade; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to adopt and implement said recommendations; now
therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS:
Section 1. International Fire Code Revised.
The city council hereby adopts certain revisions to the 2000 Edition of the International Fire
Code, as originally adopted by Ordinance 2002-44, said revisions being hereby attached to this
ordinance as Exhibit A and hereby made an integral part of this ordinance.
Section 2 Repeal Clause
All parts of any ordinance in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are to the extent of
such conflict hereby repealed.
Section 3 Savings Clause
If any provision of this ordinance shall be held to be invalid or unconstitutional, the remainder
of such ordinance shall continue in full force and effect the same as if such invalid or
unconstitutional provision had never been a part hereof.
Section 4 Effective Date
This ordinance shall be effective upon the posting and/or publication of its caption as required
by law and the City Secretary is hereby directed to implement such posting and/or publication.

CITY OF ANNA AOMENDMENTS
2000 INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE
The following additions,deledons,and admendments to the 20001nternational Fire Code adopted
herin are hearty approved and adopted
1. Chapter 3 General Precautions Against Fire.
Section 307.2; change to read as follows:
307.2 Permit Required. A permit shall be obtained from the code official in accordance with
section 105.6 prior to kindling a fire for recognized civilculture or range or wildlife management
practices, prevention, or control of disease or pests, or open burning. Application for such
approval shall only be presented by and permits issued to the owner of the land upon which the
fire is being kindled
Examples of state or local law, or regulations referenced elsewhere in this section may include
but not be limited to the following:
1. Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission guidelines and or restrictions.
2. State, County, or Local temporary or permanent bans on open burning.
3. Local written policies established by the code official.
Add section 307.3.3 to read as follows:
Trench burns: Open burning shall be conducted in trenches with approved equipment and in
accordance with section 307.3. Open burning shall also be conducted as required by any other
governing agencies regulating emissions.
Exception: Recreational fires and controlled bums authorized and monitored by the local Fire
Department for training purposes.
Section 307.4; change to read as follows:
307.4 Attendance. Open burning, b=& burns, bonfires or recreational fins shall be constantly
attended until the... {remainder of section. unchanged}.
