ORDINANCE NO. 211-2005
(Records Retention)
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS, ADOPTING A RECORDS
RETENTION POLICY AND PROGRAM; PROVIDING A REPEALER CLAUSE;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anna has determined that a records retention policy
will clarify and codify the City's regulations and procedures regarding the retention and
destruction of public records; and
WHEREAS, the Texas State Library and Archives Commission has formulated and published a
record retention schedule for local governments that includes all record retention requirements
imposed under federal and state law, as well as schedules for records that are not specifically
governed by statute,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANNA,
TEXAS:
Section 1.
The City of Anna hereby adopts the records retention schedule, as amended, published by the
Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
Section 2.
All ordinances of the City of Anna in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are repealed to
the extent of that conflict.
Section 3.
This Ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council and
approval by the Mayor.
PASSED on this the 14th day of June, 2005, by the following vote of the City Council of the City
of Anna, Texas.
