HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 222-2005 Amending Ord 217-2005 Technology Advisory Commission.pdfCITY OF ANNA, TEXAS ORDINANCE NO. 222-2005 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE 217- 2005 BY INCREASING THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS OF THE ANNA TECHNOLOGY ADVISORY COMMISSION AND REQUIRING THAT ONE MEMBER OF THE COMMISSION BE A MEMBER OF THE CITY COUNCIL; PROVIDING A REPEALER CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS: Section 1. Number of Member of Anna Technology Advisory Commission Increased and Commission to Include One City Council Mambor Subsection A of Section 2 of Ordinance 217-2005 is hereby revised to read as follows: Section 2. Membemhlp: Organization: Compensation A Membership The Anna Technology Advisory Commission ('Commission") shall consist of seven (7) members and two (2) alternate members who are residents of the City of Anna, each to be appointed by the City Council for a term of two (2) years and removable for cause by the City Council, on a written charge after a public hearing. One member of the Commission shall be a member of the City Council of the City of Anna. Altemates may participate in meetings of the Commission and may vote as regular members of the Commission when asked to serve by the presiding officer in the absence of a regular member. Vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired term of any member whose place becomes vacant for any cause in the same manner as the original appointment was made. The terms of members filling places 1, 3, 5, and 7 and alternate place 1 shall expire on June 30 of each odd -numbered year and the terms of members filling places 2, 4, and 6 and alternate place 2 shall expire on June 30 of each even -numbered year. Commission members may be appointed to succeed themselves. Newly -appointed members shall be installed at the first Commission meeting after their appointment. Section 2. Repeal Clause All parts of any ordinance in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed. Section 3. Savings Clause If any provision of this ordinance shall be held to be invalid or unconstitutional, the remainder of such ordinance shall continue in full force and effect the same as if such invalid or Page 1 of unconstitutional provision had never been a part hereof. Section 6. Effective Date This ordinance shall be effective as of the date of passage by the City Council. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Anna, Texas, this 91h day of August, 2005.
