ORDINANCE NO. 232.2005
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS, REQUIRING SEWER LINE CAMERA
INSPECTIONS; ESTABLISHING SEWER LINE CAMERA INSPECTION FEES; PROVIDING
FOR A REPEAL CLAUSE; ESTABLISHING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; ESTABLISHING A
PENANLTY AND A FINE; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City has experienced numerous instances in which private sewer yard lines
have been installed improperly;
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered this matter and believes that it is necessary to the
effective and efficient operation of the City's sanitary system that sewer camera inspections be
conducted an sanitary sewer yard lines and a fee be established to offset the costs incurred for
conducting such inspections; now therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS, THAT
n 1. Bulldinaftrd Line Sewer I
Each building sewer shall be inspected by video camera. Inspections shall be conducted on all
new construction and building sewers that are being replaced. Inspections shall be conducted
by the City of Anna Public Works Department. This inspection will be scheduled after the rough
plumbing inspection when all test plugs have been removed and the building sewer trench has
been backfilled. The building sewer camera inspection must be passed before receiving a
framing inspection for new construction and prior to issuance of a green tag for building sewers
that are being replaced.
Section 2. Inspection Fee
The fee for each building sewer video inspection shall be $50.00. Fees for the inspection will be
assessed and paid at the time of issuance of the plumbing permit. Any failure of the inspection
will require correction and payment of a re -inspection fee equal to the original fee.
Section 3. Repeal Clause
All pans of any ordinance in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are to the extent of
such conflict hereby repealed.
Section 4, Savings Clause
If any provision of this ordinance shall be held to be invalid or unconstitutional, the remainder
of such ordinance shall continue in full force and effect the same as if such invalid or
unconstitutional provision had never been a part hereof.

Seetion 5. Effective Date
This ordinance $hail be effective upon the posting and/or publication of its caption as required
by law and the City Secretary Is hereby directed to implement such posting and/or publication.
SaOon 8. Penalty
Any person violating any provision of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor
and upon conviction shall be subject to a fine not to exceed the maximum as prescribed by the
statutes of the State of Texas. Each day of violation may be considered a separate offense
under the provisions of this ordinance. Each transaction in violation of any provision hereof
shall be deemed a separate offense. Prosecution or conviction under this provision shall not
be a bar to any other remedy or relief for violations of this ordinance.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Anna, Texas, by the following vote on this the 25th
day of October, 2005.
