ORDINANCE NO. 328-2007
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 2001-
01 (SIGN REGULATIONS) BY CLARIFYING THAT THE REGULATION
OF GARAGE SALE SIGNS IS STATED IN THE GARAGE SALE
ORDINANCE; REPEALING PROVISIONS OF ANY ORDINANCE IN
CONFLICT WITH THIS ORDINANCE; SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE;
AND PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED TWO THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($2,000.00) FOR VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anna has determined that the
regulation of signs is necessary to the orderly growth, aesthetic appearance, and
welfare of the community; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anna seeks to clarify its regulations
regarding garage sale signs; and
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS:
Section 1. Sian Reaulations Adooted be Amended
Section 1 of Ordinance 2001-01 is hereby amended by adding the following
sentences:
NOTE: This ordinance does not apply to garage sale signs as defined in the
Garage Sale Ordinance No. 327-2007 . Please see the garage sale
ordinance for these sign regulations.
Section 2. Repeal Clause
All parts of any ordinance in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are to
the extent of such conflict hereby repealed.
Section 3. Penalties
Any violation of any of the terms of this ordinance, whether herein denominated
as unlawful or not, shall be deemed a misdemeanor. Any person convicted of
any such violation shall be fined in an amount not to exceed two thousand dollars
for each incidence of violation. Each day of the continuance of such violation
shall be considered a separate offense and be punished separately.
Section 4. Effective Data
This ordinance shall be effective upon the posting and/or publication of its
caption as required by law and the City Secretary is hereby directed to
implement such posting and/or publication.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Anna, Texas, by the following vote on
this the 22nd day of May, 2007.
