SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
July 6, 2005 7:00 PM
City Hall
The City Council of the City of Anna met in Special Session at 7;00 p.m.
Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at the City of Anna, located at 101 N. Powell Parkway, to
consider the following items.
1. Call to Order.
Meeting officially called to order at 7:02 p.m.
2. Roll Call and Establishment of Quorum.
Mayor Kenneth Pelham and all council members were present.
3. EXECUTIVE SESSION: Under terms of Chapter 551 of Texas Government
Code, the City Council may enter into CLOSED SESSION or Executive
Session to discuss the following:
a. To consult with legal counsel on matters in which the duty of the
attorney to the governmental body under the Texas Disciplinary Rules
of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with
Chapter 551 of the Government Code. (Government Code, Chapter
551.071).
b. Personnel Matters (Texas Government Code, §551.074)
1. Consideration of applicants Lee Lawrence and Joseph Gambill, Jr.,
for the position of City Manager.
Motion to enter into executive session at 7:03 p.m, by Mark Montgomery
seconded by JW Finley, Jr.

Motion to return to open session at 9:31 p.m. by JW Finley, Jr., seconded by John
Geren.

4. Consider and take possible action regarding the position of City Manager.
Motion to appoint Lee Lawrence City Manager of Anna, Texas, by JW Finley, Jr.,
seconded by Mayor Kenneth Pelham.

Motion made for City Attorney to draft a contract between Lee Lawrence and the
City of Anna for the position of City Manager by JW Finley, Jr., seconded by
Mark Montgomery.

Motion to adjourn at 9:39 p.m. by John Geren seconded by JW Finley, Jr,
