PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
WORKSHOP
August 29, 2006
The Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Van Alstyne held a workshop on Tuesday,
August 29, 2006, at 7:00 p. m., at the Auditorium of the Grayson County Community College
located at 1401 W. Stephens, Van Alstyne, Texas, to consider the following items. This meeting
was conducted jointly by the Planning and Zoning Commissions of the cities of Van Alstyne and
Anna.
1. Call to order
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Jim Atchison of Van Alstyne,
Texas.
Members present from City of Anna Planning and Zoning included Chairman John Rattan, J.
W. Finley, Joseph Bode, Nancy Pennington, Jon Hendricks, and William Ballantyne.
City of Anna staff present was Lee Lawrence, Wayne Cummings, and Tana Ross. Mayor
Kenneth Pelham of Anna, Texas, and Maurice Schwanke, Planning Consultant for the city of
Anna, were also in attendance.
2. Briefing and discussion on the proposed Mantua development regulations.
Don Paschal, Project Manager, 94 Parkwood Court, McKinney, Texas and Bill Benton, 804
W. Stephens, Van Alstyne, Texas presented a power point presentation regarding the
Mantua project, particularly relating to the zoning request being made by the property
owner. Mr. Paschal and Mr. Benton presented an overview of the project and answered
questions.
3. Citizen comments and other presentation.
There were no citizen comments or other presentations.
4. Adjourn
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
