HomeMy WebLinkAboutPZmin2008-01-19 (Workshop)1IN1111111M PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION WORKSHOP January 19, 2008 The Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Anna held a workshop on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. at the Community Room of Anna City Hall Administration Building, located at 111 North Powell Parkway (Hwy 5), to consider the following items. 1. Call to order and establishment of quorum. Chairman Jon Hendricks called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. Members present were Jon Hendricks, William Ballantyne, Mike Green and J. W. Finley. Commissioner members Jeff Caponera arrived at 8:05 a.m. and Nancy Pennington at 8:16 a.m. Commissioner member Darren Driskell was absent. Staff members present were Maurice Schwanke and Tana Ross. 2. Citizen comments and other presentations. There were no citizen comments or other presentations. 3. Workshop: Discussion on revising City of Anna zoning ordinance concerning fencing requirements regarding: a. Construction specifications for residential fencing b. Construction specifications for screening between residential and non- residential uses c. Type(s) of screening required along roadway perimeters The Commission and staff reviewed the proposed revision to the fencing regulations. Following discussion it was decided to place the proposed ordinance on the next P&Z agenda. 4. Future agenda consideration. Mr. Finley inquired about having Officer Howard Day do another presentation regarding "Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED). Mr. Schwanke noted that if applicable, portions of the CPTED will be included as part of an overall revision to the zoning ordinance and/or subdivision ordinances. 5.
