CITY OF ANNA AGENDA NOTICE -CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL
BUDGET WORKSHOP MEETING
August 4, 2009 6:30 PM -Old Independent Bank Building
The City Council of the City of Anna met in Special Budget Workshop Session at
6:30 p.m., August 4, 2009, at the Old Independent Bank Building, located at
101 South Powell Parkway (Hwy 5). regarding the following items.
1. Call to Order
Mayor Darren R. Driskell called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.
2. Roll Call and Establishment of Quorum.
Mayor Darren R. Driskell and Council Members Mike Crist, Kevin Anderson,
Keith Green, Marc Hendricks and Becky Glover were present.
3. Workshop: The following items/issues will be discussed. No action will
be taken on any Item.
1. Discussion regarding 2009-2010 Budget
City Manager, Philip Sanders started the discussion with General Fund Revenue
Projections and Proposed Tax Rate presentation. Discussion continued
regarding the General Fund Department Operating Budgets. Staff answered
questions regarding each departments proposed budget. Mr. Sanders reviewed
the Debt Service Fund and Capital Improvements Fund answering questions
from council members. City Manager, Philip Sanders reviewed Utility Fund
Department Operating Budgets covering water, sewer and utility billing. James
Parkman, Director of Public Works answered questions from council members.
There was discussion regarding the effective tax rate and the roll back tax rate.
Staff and Council Members discussed having a budget meeting Saturday, August
8, 2009 at 8:00 am to discuss the budget. There was mention briefly to have
some sort of Press Release regarding getting the budget and tax rate information
out to citizens.
4. Adjoum.
Council Member Crist made the motion to adjourn at 9:24 pm. Council
Member Glover seconded the motion. Motion passes.
