SPECIAL JOINT CITY COUNCIL I ANNA PLANNING AND ZONNING
COMMISSION WORKSHOP
AUGUST 8, 2009 10:00 A.M.
Anna City Hall Administration Building
The City Council of the City of Anna and Anna Planning and Zoning Commission
met in a Special Workshop Session at 10:00 a. m, August 8, 2009, at the Anna
City Hall Administration Building located at 111 N Powell Parkway (Hwy 5), Anna,
TX 75409, to consider the following items.
1. Call to Order
Mayor Darren R. Driskell called the meeting to order at 10:03 am.
2. Roll Call and Establishment of Quorum.
Present were Mayor Darren R. Driskell and Council Members Mike Crist,
Marc Hendricks and Becky Glover. Absent were Council Member Kevin
Anderson and Keith Green.
Nancy Pennington, Chairman for P & Z called their meeting to order.
Present were Nancy Pennington, Chairman and Commissioners William
Bently Powell, Joe Osbom, Alan Marter, David Woods and Michael Quint.
Absent was John Mathews
3. Workshop: The following itemslissues will be discussed. No action
will be taken on any item:
a. Discussion regarding Council's goals and expectations for the
Anna Planning and Zoning Commission.
Council Member Crist started off with giving a copy of the City's vision
statement to P &Z members. Council Members and Commissioners
discussed marketing the City to businesses; what Anna in the future will
look like; how difficult it is to make some of the commercial zoning issue
decisions close to residential areas; book of examples of development
likes and dislikes; getting information ahead of meetings; and wanting a
more detailed summary on items to make an informed·decision.
Commissioners thought meeting twice a year with council would be
beneficial.

4. Adjourn.
Council Member Glover made the motion to adjourn at 11 :00 am. Council
Member Hendricks seconded the motion. Motion passed.

Chairman Nancy Pennington made the motion for P & Z to adjourn.
Commissioner Joe Osborn seconded the motion. Motion passes.
