CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL BUDGET WORKSHOP MEETING
August 3, 2010 6:30 PM -Anna City Hall Administration Building
The City Council of the City of Anna met in Special Budget Workshop Session at
6:30 p.m., August 3,2010, at the Anna City Hall Administration Building, located
at 111 North Powell Parkway (Hwy 5), regarding the following items.
1. Call to Order
Mayor Darren R. Driskell called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.
2. Roll Call and Establishment of Quorum.
Mayor Darren R. Driskell and Council Members Kevin Anderson, Keith Green,
Marc Hendricks and Becky Glover were present. Council Members Mike Crist
and John Geren were absent.
3. Workshop: The follOWing items/Issues will be discussed. No action will
be taken on any item.
1. Discussion regarding 2010-2011 Budget.
Philip Sanders, City Manager started discussion regarding the Anna Greater
Chamber of Commerce funding request. The Chamber is requesting
consideration of $45,000 being budgeted for events they sponsor during the
year. Deana Mink, President of the Greater Anna Chamber of Commerce was
present and answered questions from council members.
City Manager, Philip Sanders gave a presentation covering a summary of
revenue and expenses for the general fund, utility fund, debt service fund, capital
improvements fund, trust funds and reviewed the proposed budget for each
department within those funds. Staff answered questions from council members
during the review.
Mr. Sander's recapped information needed to get to council members. Council
Members discussed items on the not funded list such as a new server, lap top
and office space for the Mayor for City business.
4. Adjourn.
Mayor Driskell made the motion to adjourn at 8:09 pm. Council Member
Anderson seconded the motion. Motion passes.
