SPECIAL WORKSHOP
JOINT CITY COUNCIL AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF ANNA
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DIS'rRICT MEETING
October 19,20107:30 P.M.
Anna ISD Administration Building Board Room
501 S. Sherley, Anna, Texas
The City Council of the City of Anna and the Board of Trustees of Anna ISO met in
Special Workshop Session at, Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at 7:30 p. m at the
Administration Building Board Room, 501 S. Sherley. Anna, Texas 75409 to
consider the following items.
The City Council and the Board of Trustees toured the new high school facility at 6:00
pm and had dinner at 7:00 pm in the Anna Administration Conference Room.
1. Call to Order.
Ty Chapman, President of the Anna ISO Board of Trustees called the meeting to
order at 7:45 pm. Mayor Darren Driskell called the Anna City Council Special
meeting to order at 7:47 pm. Council Member John Geren was absent. Mr.
Chapman turned the meeting over to Larry Johnson, Superintendent of Anna
ISO.
2. Invocation.
Duane Hayes, Anna Board of Trustees member gave the invocation.
3. Introduction of members present.
Mr. Johnson gave some back ground information and everyone at the meeting
introduced themselves and told a little bit about themselves.
4. Report on the state of the School District.
Thomas O'Neal, Assistant Superintendent and Scott Wortham, Director of
Finance gave the report on the State of the School District.
5. Report ofthe state of the City.
City Manager, Philip Sanders reported on the State of the City.

6. Workshop: The following item8lissues will be discussed. No action will be
taken on any item. Discussion at the meeting may be restricted to City
Council members and the Board of Trustees of Anna ISO.
a. Recruitment (businesses, homes, etc.)
b. Advertisement of School and City successes and events.
c. Projection of School and City growth.
d. Monthly/Quarterly reports of building permits.
e. City Parksl School District projects.
f. Community projects for School/ City participation.
g. Grants.
Topics discussed were keeping the school district appraised of the
development coming to the City; working together to market the city;
population estimations; roadsltransportation; informing residents of the
progress going on in the City so they can help promote the City.
7. Other Issues by Board / City leaders.
Contact Larry Johnson, Anna ISO Superintendent or Philip Sanders, Anna City
Manager to relay ideas for next meeting.
8. Set date for next meeting.
Discussion was to have the next meeting in the early spring around March.
9. Adjourn.
Council Member Crist made the motion to adjourn at 9:25 pm. Council Member
Anderson seconded the motion. Motion passes all.
Anna ISO Board of Trustees adjoumed at 9:25 pm.
