Whereas, the City Council of the City of Anna entered into a contract with the State of Texas to
make improvements to the wastewater system; and,
Whereas, certain conditions in the City have been identified and represent a threat to the public
health, safety or welfare; and,
Whereas, due to favorable bids, unused funds are available to: 1) provide first-time sanitary
sewer service for a number of citizens, and 2) replace additional severely deteriorated sewer lines;
and,
Whereas, the City of Anna desires to permanently resolve: 1) the malfunctioning of septic
systems, and 2) the serious inflow and infiltration problem in the affected target area;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE
CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS:
(1) The City Council authorizes a contract amendment request be submitted to the Texas
Community Development Program for first-time sanitary sewer service and to replace
additional severely deteriorated sewer lines.
(2) The City Council directs and authorizes the Mayor to execute all necessary documents as
may be required to initiate and process this contract amendment request.
PASSED AND APPROVED at a meeting of the City Council of the City of Anna, Texas, on
this the 8th day of April, 1997.
