1.Call to Order, Roll Call, and Establishment of Quorum.
2.Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance.
3.Neighbor Comments.
At this time, any person may address the City Council regarding an item on this
meeting Agenda that is not scheduled for public hearing. Also, at this time, any
person may address the City Council regarding an item that is not on this
meeting Agenda. Each person will be allowed up to three (3) minutes to speak.
No discussion or action may be taken at this meeting on items not listed on this
Agenda, other than to make statements of specific information in response to a
citizen’s inquiry or to recite existing policy in response to the inquiry.
4.Receive a Report
a.Receive a report on parks maintenance and recreation programs and events.

Re: Parks Maintenance and Recreation Programs and Events Update

The Parks Division completed the following:
o Mowed 45 acres which included city facilities, medians, and parks.
o Sprayed post emergent at all parks and city facilities.
o Replaced 17 new trees at City Hall.
o Formed 9 concrete trash receptacles pads along Natural Springs Park and Slayter Creek
Park walking trails and poured additional concrete for the benches around the
playground at Slayter Creek Park.
o Inspected 5 sets of restrooms each morning and restocked them on Mondays and
Fridays. All restrooms' floors were power washed.
o Cleaned and inspected 5.5 miles of walking trail each week.
o Removed any fallen dead trees and trimmed multiple trees at Slayter Creek Park and
Natural Springs Park.
o Repaired multiple irrigation leaks at Slayter Creek Park, Baldwin Park, Johnson Park &
City Hall.
The Recreation Division completed the following:
• Hosted the following Senior Programs:
o Foodie Troop on November 14.
o Crafting Corner – Potpourri Jar on November 29.
o Senior Christmas Lunch on December 5th at Grace Place.
o Book club at the Sherley Heritage Train Depot on December 6.
• Hosted the following Youth Programming:
o Fri-Yay Craft on Friday, November 17.
o Pop-up Recreation – Creature Teacher Invertebrates on Saturday, November 18th in the
Council Chambers.
o Kicked off 4U-12U Youth t-ball, baseball, and softball registration.
• Hosted the following Adult Programs
o Weekly Workout Wednesday at Slayter Creek Park on November 15.

ANNA PARKS ADVISORY BOARD MEETING
Monday, November 13 ,2023 @ 6:00 PM

The Parks Advisory Board of the City of Anna met at 6:00 PM, on November 13th, 2023, at the Anna Municipal
Complex, Council Chambers, located at 120 W. 7th Street, to consider the following items:
1. Call to Order, Roll Call and Establishment of Quorum
Parks Advisory Board Member McKenzie called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm.
Quorum was established. Following Parks advisory board members were in attendance Mackenzie
Jenks, Susan Jones, Chad Fisher, Jeff Reece, Andy Michrina and Eirik Hansen. Justin Inesta was not
in attendance.
Staff present included Assistant City Manager Gret Peters, Director of Neighborhood Services Marc
Marchand, Assistant Director of Neighborhood Services Jeff Freeth, and City Council Member Elden
Baker.
2. Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance.
Parks Advisory Board Member Mackenzie Jenks led the Pledge of Allegiance.
3. Neighbor Comments – No neighbor comments
4. Receive a Report
Received a memo with the update on parks maintenance and recreation programs and
events.
5. Project Update.
Received a memo with the park CIP Project
6. Items for Individual Consideration.
a. Discuss, Consider, Action on park naming recommendation.
MOTION:
Park 1- Park Advisory Board Member Chad Fisher made a motion to recommend to council
to name the park located at Lindsay Place, John Flavel Greer Park. Second by Jeff Reece.
Motion Carried.
Park 2- Councilman Elden Baker shared the history of the location of the future park on
Foster Crossing. Based on the information shared, one suggestion was for the name of the
park to be Stagecoach Park. Parks Advisory Board Chad Fisher suggested that the park be
named after a female leader. City staff will further research names and come back to the
board with more information at the December meeting so a park name recommendation can
be made to the city council.
b. Discuss, Consider, Action on Parks Advisory Board Meeting Minutes on August 21, 2023
MOTION: Park Advisory Board Member Mackenzie Jenks made a motion to approve the
minutes. Seconded by Chad Fisher. Motion carried.
7. Adjourn.
Parks Advisory Board Chair Mackenzie Jenks adjourned the meeting at 6:32pm.
