A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS, ADOPTING AN
AFFIRMATIVE ACTION/EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYMENT
STATEMENT
Whereas, the City desires to develop a community that offers fair and equal employment opportunities for each
citizen without regard to race, color, sex, religion, or national origin through fair, orderly and lawful procedures,
and
Whereas, the City recognizes that the denial of fair and equal employment opportunities through considerations
based on race, color, sex, religion, or national origin is detrimental to the health, safety and welfare of the
inhabitants of the City and constitutes an unjust denial or deprivation of such rights which is in the power and
proper responsibility of government to prevent, now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE FOLLOWING EMPLOYMENT AFFIRMATIVE ACTION STATEMENT
IS HEREBY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS.
ARTICLE 1
Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Statement
"The City of Anna is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer." This shall be the employment policy of
the City of Anna, Texas, and the preceding statement shall be included on all applications for employment,
advertisements for employment, and solicitations for contract work.
ARTICLE 2
Repeal Clause
All parts of any resolution in conflict with the provisions of this resolution are to the extent of such conflict hereby
repealed.
ARTICLE 3
Savings Clause
If any provision of this resolution shall be held to be invalid or unconstitutional, the remainder of such resolution
shall continue in full force and effect the same as if such invalid or unconstitutional provision had never been a
part hereof.
ARTICLE 4
Effective Date
This resolution shall be effective immediately upon signing.
