A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO AWARD THE MUNICIPAL COMPLEX SANITARY SEWER
CONSTRUCTION PROJECT TO THE LOWEST QUALIFIED BIDDER IN AN AMOUNT
NOT TO EXCEED THREE HUNDRED SIXTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS AND ZERO
CENTS ($365,000.00); AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Municipal Complex Sanitary Sewer Construction Project is listed as a
capital improvement project in the City of Anna's Capital Improvement Plan; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed sanitary sewer improvements are required for the construction
of the Municipal Complex and to improve sewer collection in the downtown area; and,
WHEREAS, the project was publicly advertised and bid in accordance with Texas Local
Government Code §252.021; and,
WHEREAS, seven bids were received and read aloud at City Hall on December 5, 2019;
and,
WHEREAS, the project budget was identified to be $365,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, City staff and the design engineer Brinkhoff, Hendricks, and Carter, LLC are
reviewing the references and bid tabulations to identify the lowest qualified bidder; and,
WHEREAS, Municipal Bond Funds shall be used to fund the project in an amount not to
exceed $365,000.00.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANNA, TEXAS THAT:
Section 1. Recitals Incorporated
The recitals above are incorporated herein as if set forth in full for all purposes.
Section 2. Authorization of Contracts and Funding.
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract with the lowest qualified
bidder in a form approved by the City Attorney and fund the project using Municipal Bond
Funds in an amount not to exceed $365,000.00.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Anna, Texas on this loth
day of December 2019.
