Meeting MINUTES
ANNA PARKS ADVISORY BOARD MEETING
Tuesday, May 20, 2024 @ 6:00 PM
Municipal Complex, Council Chambers
120 W. 7th Street, Anna, TX 75409
The Parks Advisory Board of the City of Anna met at 6:01 PM, on May 201h, 2024, at the Anna Municipal
Complex, Council Chambers, located at 120 W. 7th Street, to consider the following items:
1. Call to Order, Roll Call and Establishment of Quorum
Parks Advisory Board Member Susan Jones called the meeting to order at 6:01 pm.
Quorum was established. The following Parks advisory board members were in attendance Susan
Jones, Jeff Reece, Chad Fisher, Andy Michrina, Eirik Hansen and Alastair Hunte and Mackenzie Jenks.
Staff present included Director of Neighborhood Services Marc Marchand, Assistant Director of
Neighborhood Services Jeff Freeth, Park Planning and Development manager Dalan Walker, Assistant
City Manager Greg Peters. City Council Members Pete Cain and Stan Carver were present.
2. Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance.
Parks Advisory Board Member Chad Fisher led the Pledge of Allegiance and Prayer.
3. Neighbor Comments — No neighbor comment
4. Receive a Report
Received a memo with the update on parks maintenance and recreation programs and
events.
5. Project Update
a. Received report on Park CIP project update.
b. Received a presentation and provided feedback for the FY24/25 Proposed Parks CIP. Assistant
City Manager Greg Peters conducted the presentation.
6. Items for Individual Consideration
a. Discuss, Consider, Action on Parks Advisory Board meeting minutes on March 28,
2024.
MOTION: Park Advisory Board Member Jeff Reece made a motion to approve the
minutes. Seconded by Chad Fisher. Motion Carried.
b. Discuss, Consider and Act on the proposed Special Event Permit submitted by Albert
Kramer of Resurrection Church for a Kid's Summer Bash from July 22 to 24, 2024.
MOTION: Park Advisory Board Member Mackenzie Jenks made a motion to recommend the
approval of the special events permit submitted my Albert Kramer of Resurrection Church for
the Kids Summer Cash from July 22 to 24, 2024. Seconded by Alastair Hunte. Motion carried.
c. Discuss, Consider and Act on the proposed Special Event Permit submitted by Michael
Anna
Reinoehl for a Mardi -Gras themed 5k/10k run on Saturday, March 15, 2025.
Park Advisory Board Member Jeff Reece made a motion to recommend the approval of the
Special Event Permit submitted by Michael Reinoehl for a Mardi -Gras themed 5k/10k run on
Saturday, March 15, 2025. Seconded by Mackenzie Jenks. Motion carried.
7. Items for Future Consideration
a. Discuss, Consider, Action on erosion at Natural Springs Park.
Parks Advisory Board Member Jeff Reece made a motion to add the item to the next Parks
Advisory Board meeting agenda. Seconded by Andy Michrina. Motion carried.
b. Discuss, Consider, Action on citizens' concerns at Natural Springs Park.
c. Parks Advisory Board Member Jeff Reece made a motion to add the item to the next Parks
Advisory Board meeting agenda. Seconded by Alastair Hunte. Motion carried.
d. Discuss, Consider, Action on handicap access to small dog area.
Parks Advisory Board Member Jeff Reece made a motion to add the item to the next Parks
Advisory Board meeting agenda. Seconded by Eirik Hansen. Motion carried.
e. Discuss, Consider, Action on citizens' concerns on placement of playground.
The item was tabled at this time. Staff will come back with a timeline on when the fence, water
fountain, lights, and ADA compliance will be fixed before the end of the summer.
8. Adjourn.
Parks Advisory Board Chair Mackenzie Jenks adjourned the meeting at 7:16pm.
