Meeting Minutes

1. Call to Order, Roll Call, and Establishment of Quorum.
Chairperson Theresa King -Bell called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
and asked Commission Members to introduce themselves.

2. Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance.
Commission Member Nichole Huntprovided an invocation and Commission
Member Jodi Foster led the Pledge of Allegiance.
3. Neighbor's Input.
None.
4. Items for Individual Consideration
a. Consider/Act/Discuss approval of the minutes from the July 22, 2024
Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Commission Meeting.
b. Consider/Act/Discuss approval of the minutes from the April 22, 2024
Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Commission Meeting.
C. Consider/Act/Discuss approval of the minutes from the March 25, 2024
Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Commission Meeting.
d. Consider/Act/Discuss approval of the minutes from the February 26, 2024
Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Commission Meeting.
MOTION: Commission Member Elijah Nelms moved to approve items a, b,
c, and d. Commission Member Nichole Hunt seconded. Motion 6-0.
e. Discuss Commission Work Plan next steps.
Commission Members discussed the advisement process, previous work,
name and mission of the Commission. The Commission discussed making
neighborsfeel welcome at all city events, advisingthatthe city hosts its own
Multicultural Event and classes in the future, exploring sponsorship
opportunities, advising ways to publicly recognize neighbors, and listening
to neighbors by inviting them to the monthly meetings.
6. Adjourn.
Chairperson Theresa King -Bell adjourned the meeting at 7:43 p.m.
