Dear Mayor Ferguson:
Bids were received on January 11, 2001, for the construction of water and sewer
improvements for the City of Anna. Enclosed is a tabulation of the bids received.
These bids were received in response to an advertisement issued December 12, 2000. Tlie
advertising notice was published in the McKinney Coulter Gazette on December 17, 2000, and
December 24, 2000. Individual bidding notices were mailed to seventeen contractors. Plans and
specifications were mailed to Dodge Reports and CIv D/Texas Contractor.
During the bidding period nine potential bidders picked up plans and specifications. Four bids
were submitted for the project. North Texas Utility Service, Inc. of Sherman, Texas, submitted the
low bid for the construction for the amount of $307,757.00. Based on my previous experience with
North Texas Utility Service, Inc. on similar projects, I believe the low bidder is able to complete the
proposed work according to the plans and specifications; therefore I recommend that the City of Anna
award the contract to North Texas Utility Services, Inc. for the amount bid.

Dear Mayor Ferguson and Mr. Chapman:
Bids were received on January 18, 2001, for the installation of electrical and control systems
for the waterworks of the City of Anna. Enclosed is a tabulation of the bids received.
These bids were received in response to an advertisement issued December 21, 2000. The
advertising notice was published in the Herald Democrat on December 21, 20005 and December 28,
2000. Individual bidding notices were mailed to five contractors. Plans and specifications were mailed
to Dodge Reports and CMD/Texas Contractor.
During the bidding period five potential bidders picked up plans and specifications. Five bids
were submitted for the project. Sanford Electric Company of Bells, Texas, submitted the low bid for
the installation for the amount of $36,500.00. I have had previous experience with Sanford Electric
Company on similar projects and I believe the low bidder is able to complete the proposed work
according to the plans and specifications. I am therefore recommending that the City of Anna and
Greater Texoma Utility Authority award the contract to Sanford Electric Company for the amount bid.

PROJECT Description: Installation of Electrical and Control Systems for the Waterworks
of the City of Anna Texas.
The OWNER has considered the BID submitted by you for the above described WORK
in response to its Advertisement for Bids dated December 21 2000, and Information for
Bidders.
You are hereby notified that your BID has been accepted for items in the amount of
Thirty-six Thousand, Five Hundred and no/100 Dollars ($36.500.00) .
You are required by the Information for Bidders to execute the Agreement and furnish
the required CONTRACTOR'S Performance BOND, Payment BOND and certificates of
insurance within ten (10) calendar days from the date of this Notice to you.
If you fail to execute said Agreement and to furnish said BONDS within ten (10) days
from the date of this Notice, said OWNER will be entitled to consider all your rights arising out
of the OWNER's acceptance of your BID as abandoned and as a forfeiture of your BID BOND.
The OWNER will be entitled to such other rights as may be granted by law.
You are required to return an acknowledged copy of this NOTICE OF AWARD to the
OWNER.
