ANNA PARK BOARD
REGULAR MEETING
Monday,July 19,2010
The Park Board of the City of Anna held a regular meeting on Monday,July 19,at 7:00 p.m.in the
Community Room of the Anna City Hall Administration Building,located at 111 North Powell
Parkway (Hwy 5),to consider the following items.
1.Call to order at 7:05 pm and establishment of quorum.Park Board members present were
Erin Cogar.<Kelly Bailey,Jon Hendrix,Michael Watkins and Rachel Lyon.Maurice
Schwanke was'also present.
2.Maurice Schwanke asked for comments on make-up game options.He planned to talk to
the officials to find out what days are best.
Most of the trail in Natural Springs Park is done.
The Adopt a Trail program has three participants:Pate Rehab and two church groups.
3.Fall Softball -We currently have nine teams playing in the league that is going on right
now.As soon as it is over we will have more teams wanting to be in the Fall Softball league.
We think it would be best to have two co-ed leagues and two men's leagues.Each team
would pay $350 to participate.Fall Ball will start mid September.
4.Two Texas Parks and Wildlife grants are being applied for.The first grant,which is an
outdoor grant,is for $500,000 and would provide Slayter Creek with two additional lighted
ball fields,a splash pad,disk golf,a multi purpose field and a gazebo.This grant can be
applied for every six months.
The second grant,which is an indoor grant,is for $750,000 and will be matched by the
CDC to fund a community center.Other grants that can be applied could allow the center to
be a LEEDS certified building.This project will also require parking,sewer and water.On
January 31 the TPWD will announce grant awards.This grant can be applied for every
year.
5.Erin Cogar made a motion to accept the minutes of June 21,2010.Jon Hendrix seconded.
The motion carried.
6.Erin Cogar made a motion to adjourn.Jon Hendrix seconded.Motion carried.Meeting
adjourned at 8:41 pm.
