ANNA PARK BOARD
REGULAR MEETING
Monday,May 18,2009
The Park Board of the City of Anna held a regular meeting on Monday,May 18,at 7:00 p.m.in the
Community Room of the Anna City Hall Administration Building,located at 111 North Powell
Parkway (Hwy 5),to consider the following items.
1.Call to order at 7:06pm and establishment of quorum.Park Board members present were Kelly
Bailey,Jon Hendrix and Rachel Lyon.Maurice Schwanke was also present.
2.Citizen's comments and lor other presentations.There were no citizens present.
3.Discussion/action on overall park system.Maurice Schwanke presented a new map of Anna
that incorporated the additions of park space in to the master plan.Schwanke also
presented a slide show on the progress of the concession stand at the ballpark.
4.Discussion on the progress of Natural Springs.Schwanke showed slides of the progress on the
trail construction.Two bridges are in place and the floating dock is finished.Jon Hendrix
maintained that the pond should be dredged and ways to control algae were discussed.
5.Original Town Revitalization Plan.Schwanke presented examples of features we could add to
the plan including an amphitheater and pedestrian mall.We also discussed building an
overpass so Hackberry Street would not be blocked by a train during an emergency.
6.Baseball Park Restrooms.Schwanke reported that the area where the dumpster was
previously kept was made into a storage area and the supplies that were being stored in the
restrooms were moved to the new storage area.More improvements would be made after
the Glowfest.
7.Park Board Minutes for April 20,2009.Jon Hendrix made a motion to accept and Kelly Bailey
seconded it.Motion passed.
8.Adjourn at 7:30pm.The motion was made by Rachel Lyon and seconded by Kelly Bailey.
Motion passed.
