RESOLUTION NO. 2005-01-01
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ANNA ESTABLISHING THE POPULUTION
OF THE CITY AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2004
WHEREAS, the number of active single family residential water meters as of December
31, 2004, was 1,616 meters; and
WHEREAS, the number of multifamily and duplex units in the city as of December 31,
2004, was 26 units; and
WHEREAS, the number of persons per unit in the City of Anna in the 2000 Census was
3.09 persons per unit; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS, THAT THE POPULATION OF
THE CITY OF ANNA AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2004, IS 5,070 PERSONS. FURTHER
BE IT RESOLVED THAT IT IS THE DESIRE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANNA THAT ALL APPROPRIATE SIGNAGE AND OTHER DOCUMENTATION
ILLUSTRATING THE POPULATION OF THE CITY OF ANNA BE CHANGED TO
REFLECT THE POPULATION OF THE CITY AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2004, AND
THAT THE CITY'S EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION IS HEREBY EXTENDED TO
ONE MILE TO CONFORM TO STATE LAW.
PASSED on this the 11th day of January, 2005, by the following vote of the members of
the City Council as present:

This is to advise you per the enclosed resolution that the City of Anna has a population
of greater than 5,000 persons and thus has extended its extraterritorial jurisdiction from
one-half mile to one mile. I request that the Texas Department of Transportation
change the city limits signs to reflect the current population of 5,070 persons.
You will be sent an updated corporate limits map within the next two weeks as soon as
the new map has been completed.
