CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS
RESOLUTION NO. 2005-12-01
A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Anna, Texas
requesting that all of the territory Included within the corporate
limits of the City of Anna on the date of adoption of this resolution
be annexed to and become a part of the Greater Texoma Utility
Authority; and making certain findings in connection therewith.
WHEREAS, the City of Anna, Texas (the "City") is an incorporated city under the
Constitution and laws of the State of Texas and presently operates as a Home Rule
municipality under the Local Government Code;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anna finds and determines that
annexation of the territory within the corporate limits of the City to the Greater Texoma
Utility Authority (the "Authority") would be in the best interest of the area of the City and
the inhabitants of the City; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 97, Acts of the 661" Legislature, Regular
Session, 1979, as amended ('the Act") the Authority is authorized to annex all of the
area within the corporate limits of the City following a request from the City, the holding
of a public hearing by the Authority, and upon making certain findings set forth in the Act;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS:
Section 1: The findings and determinations made in the preamble of this
resolution are hereby incorporated by this reference and made a part of this resolution
for all purposes.
Section 2: Pursuant to the procedure set forth in Section 2 of the Act, the City
Council of the City of Anna hereby requests that all of the territory now included with the
corporate limits of the City be annexed to and become a part of the Authority.
Section 3: The City Secretary is authorized and directed to file a certified
copy of this resolution with the General Manager of the Authority as soon as possible
following the date of the adoption of this resolution.
