RESOLUTION NO. 2006-02-04
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANNA, COLLIN COUNTY,
TEXAS, CREATING THE POSITION OF CITY COUNCIL LIAISON TO THE ANNA
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anna believes that the Anna Economic
Development Corporation (Anna EDC) is a critical component in the City's effort to create
local jobs and a larger and more diversified resource base for the community; and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that communication between the council and the
Anna EDC is essential to the economic development efforts of both parties; and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that a liaison between the council and theAnna EDC
would benefit both parties by insuring improved communications between the two parties
and better coordination between the parties;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OFANNA, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 7. The City of Anna, Texas, hereby authorizes creation of an Anna EDC liaison
position to be held by a councilmember appointed by the City Council.
Section 2. The EDC liaison will be responsible for transmitting City Council requests and
interests relafing to the work of the EDC to the Anna EDC and for communicating to the
council such information, requests and interests from the EDC as may be desirable and/or
necessary to assist the council in its deliberations and decision making.
Section 3. The Anna EDC liaison shall be appointed annually at the first regular meeting
in March, may be reappointed, and serves at the pleasure of the council. A vacancy in the
position may be filled by the City Council to serve the remainder of the term.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective from and after its passage
DULY PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 28th DAY OF FEBRUARY, 2006.
