HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 2008-01-03 Adopting Revision to Personnel Policy-Direct Deposit.pdfCITY OF ANNA, TEXAS RESOLUTION NO. 2008-01-03 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS, ADOPTING REVISIONS TO THE CITY OF ANNA PERSONNEL POLICY MANUAL AND DIRECTING THAT SAID REVISIONS BE PROVIDED TO EMPLOYEES WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that Sections 5.02 and 6.01(a) of the City of Anna Personnel Policy Manual is in need of revision. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ANNA, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. Revision to City of Anna Personnel Policy Manual Section 5.02 Section 5.02 of the City of Anna Personnel Policy Manual is revised to replace the following description of Pay Periods and Check Delivery: "5.02: Pay Periods and Check DeliveM (a) The pay period of the City is biweekly. Payroll Checks shall be issued on Friday of the second week of the biweekly period. If payday falls on a holiday, checks will be issued on the last working day preceding. (b) Paychecks will not be issued other than on the days set out above without approval of the City Manager. (c) No salary advances or loans against future salary will be made to any employee for and reason. Said description is hereby replaced with the following: "5.02: Pay Periods and Payroll Funds Dekvye (a) The pay period for the City is biweekly. Payroll funds shall be deposited in each employees checking or savings account on the Friday following the end of the work period. (b) Payroll funds will not be issued other than on the days set out above without approval of the City Manager. (c) No salary advances or loans against future salary will be made to any employee for any reason. Section 2. Revision to City of Anna Personnel Policy Manual Section 6.01(al Section 6.01(a) of the City of Anna Personnel Policy Manual is revised as follows: (a) "Except as otherwise set forth expressly herein, the official work period for the City of Anna non -police employees is a seven-day period beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday and ending at 5:00 p.m., on the following Wednesday." Said description is hereby replaced with the following. Res. No. 200801-03 Revisions to Personnel Policy-drect Deposit PAGE 1 of 2 01.2248 (a) "Except as otherwise set forth expressly herein, the official work period for City of Anna non -police employees is a seven-day period beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Monday and ending at 12:00 Midnight on the following Sunday." Section & Pay Transition To allow employees to be able to receive a full check for the pay period during transition the employees will be allowed to be paid for up to three days of their vacation time so the check received during the transition is for a full 14 day period. Employees that do not wish to use vacation time will receive a check for the actual hours earned in the transition pay period. This Section only applies one time during the transition pay period. Section 4. Directive to Provide Revisions to EmDiovees The City Manager is hereby directed to make the above -referenced revisions to Sections 5.02 and 6.01(a) and to: (1) provide all City of Anna employees with a written copy of the revised City of Anna Personnel Policy Manual; and (2) obtain each employee's signature for receipt of the revised manual.
