RESOLUTION NO. 2008-03-03
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE FOR
RESIDENTIAL SOLID WASTE COLLECTION
WHEREAS, the City of Anna, Texas ("the City"), in Resolution No.2008-01-02,
authorized the advertisement of a request for proposals from qualified providers for
residential solid -waste collection and recycling services; and
WHEREAS, the City has received proposals from such qualified providers; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute an
agreement for residential solid -waste collection and, potentially, for recycling services;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anna believes that these measures are in the
best interests of the City and its citizens to provide for the public health and safety;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANNA, TEXAS:
Section 1. The City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to enter into
negotiations with Bradshaw and Son Trash Service to reach an agreement consistent
with the proposal submitted by Bradshaw and Son Trash Service in response to the
City's request for proposal authorized by the City in Resolution No. 2008-01-02, if such
an agreement would provide the best value for the City. Such agreement shall be for
provision of the following services: Semi -Automated Solid Waste Collection: Twice per
week collection of trash in a 95 gallon polycart provided by the contractor; weekly pick-
up of bundled or bulky items placed next to the polycart; once per month collection of
larger bulky items; solid waste removal at all City of Anna buildings; curbside collection
of Christmas Trees, and once per week collection of recyclable materials in a 64 gallon
polycart provided by the contractor.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute such an agreement with
Bradshaw and Son Trash Service, provided that it is approved as to form by the City
Attorney.
