RESOLUTION NO. 2010-04-02
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE A
COMMERCIAL TRASH CONTRACT.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anna, Texas (City Council) approved a Solid
Waste Collection and Disposal Contract (Contract) with Waste Management of Texas,
Inc. (Waste Management) with an effective date of August 1, 2005; and,
WHEREAS, On January 26, 2010 the City Council approved a Resolution exercising its
option to not renew the contract for another five year term; and,
WHEREAS, In February 2010 the City Staff issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a
new commercial trash collection contract to take over service when the current Waste
Management contract expires on August 1 st ; and,
WHEREAS, the City received four responses to the RFP including responses from
Waste Management, IESI, CWO, and Bradshaw and Son; and,
WHEREAS, the City Staff has reviewed each proposal and is recommending that the
City Council authorize Staff to negotiate a new three-year commercial trash collection
contract with Bradshaw and Son;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY -rHE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANNA, TEXAS THAT:
Section 1. Recitals Incorporated
The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein for all purposes as if set forth in full.
Section 2. The City Council hereby directs the City Manager to negotiate a new
three-year commercial trash collection contract with Bradshaw and Son.
