RESOLUTION NO. 2010-05-02
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO ACT ON THE CITY'S BEHALF IN EXECUTING A CONTRACT WITH
REYNOLDS ASPHAL T FOR THE RIGGINS STREET REHABILITATION PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City of Anna (the City) FY 2010 Budget has allocated $100,000 for a street
improvement project; and,
WHEREAS, the City Staff has recommended that the funds be used to rehabilitate a portion of
Riggins Street from Fourth Street to Hackberry Drive (Riggins Street RehabUitation Project or the
Project); and,
WHEREAS, on April 13, 2010, the City Council of the of the City of Anna, Texas (the City
CounCil) authorized the Staff to solicit competitive bids for the Project; and,
WHEREAS, the City, having solicited competitive bids in accordance with State law, opened
said bids on May 4, 2010; and,
WHEREAS, Reynolds Asphalt is the apparent low bidder having submitted a bid of
$60,459.90; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to award the Project bid to Reynolds Asphalt and execute a
contract between the City and Reynolds Asphalt for the Riggins Street Rehabilitation Project;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANNA,
TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. Recitals Incorporated.
The recitals above are incorporated herein as if set forth in full for all purposes.
Section 2. Approval and Authorization of Agreement.
The City Council hereby approves the Agreement attached hereto as Exhibit 1 for the Riggins
Street Rehabilitation Project, and authorizes, ratifies and approves the City Manager's execution
of same. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute all documents and to take all other
actions necessary to finalize, act under and enforce the Agreement.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Anna, Texas, on this 13th day of April, 2010.
