RESOLUTION NO. 2010-05-07
RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL SOLID WASTE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL
CONTRACT WITH BRADSHAW AND SON TRASH SERVICE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anna, Texas (City Council) approved a Solid Waste
Collection and Disposal Contract with Waste Management of Texas, Inc. with an effective date
of August 1, 2005; and.
WHEREAS, On January 26, 2010 the City Council approved a Resolution exercising its option
to not renew the contract for another fIVe year term; and,
WHEREAS, In February 2010 the City Staff issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a new
commercial trash collection contract to take over service when the current Waste Management
contract expires on August 1 st ; and,
WHEREAS, the City received four responses to the RFP induding responses from Waste
Management, IESI, CWD, and Bradshaw and Son; and,
WHEREAS, the City Staff has reviewed each proposal and recommended that the City Council
authorize Staff to negotiate a new three-year commercial trash collection contract with
Bradshaw and Son Trash Service;
WHEREAS, On April 13, 2010 the City Council approved a Resolution authOrizing Staff to
negotiate a new three-year commercial and industrial solid waste collection and disposal
contract with Bradshaw and Son Trash Service;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANNA,
TEXAS THAT:
Section 1. Recitals Incorporated
The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein for all purposes as if set forth in full.
Section 2. The City Council hereby approves the Commercial and Industrial Solid Waste
Collection and Disposal Contract with Bradshaw and Son Trash Service attached hereto as
Exhibit 1; and authorizes the City Manager to execute said contract, and to take all necessary
actions to enact and enforce the terms of said contract.
