RESOLUTION NO. 2010-11-06
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS ADOPTING AN UPDATED
ANNEXATION PLAN.
WHEREAS, Section 43.052 of the Texas Local Govemment Code requires that each city
adopt an annexation plan to include territory the city plans to annex three years from the date
the territory is placed in the plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 43.052(h) of the Local Govemment Code provides several
exceptions that authorize cities to annex territory without placing the territory in an
annexation plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anna, Texas (the ItCitylt) adopted an Annexation Plan on
October 28, 2003; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anna, Texas (the "City Council") desires to
amend and update said Annexation Plan;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANNA, TEXAS THAT:
Section 1. Recitals Incorporated
The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein for all purposes as if set forth in full.
Section 2. Approval of Annexation Plan
The City Council has reviewed the future expansion needs of the City and has determined
that, at this time, the City does not intend to annex any territory that is required to be in
an annexation plan in order to be annexed. The City Council reserves the right to amend
the annexation plan in the future to add territory for annexation. This Annexation Plan
supercedes and replaces all previous Annexation Plans adopted by the City.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Anna, Texas on this 23rd
day of November 2010.
