RESOLUTION NO. 2012-08-02
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS NAMING THE DATE AND PLACE
OF A PUBLIC HEARINGS ON THE 2012 AD VALOREM TAX RATE
WHEREAS, Texas Tax Code § 26.05(d) states that the governing body of a taxing unit
may not adopt a tax rate that exceeds the lower of the effective rate and rollback rate
until the governing body of the taxing unit has held two public hearings on the proposed
tax rate
WHEREAS, the City Council has voted to propose maximum ad valorem tax rate of
$0.650332
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANNA, TEXAS THAT:
Section 1. Recitals Incorporated
The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein for all purposes as if set forth in full.
Section 2. Date of Public Hearing and Publication of Notice
The Council hereby sets August 21, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. and August 28, 2012 and 7:30
p.m. as the date and time for the public hearings on the 2012 Tax Rate, said hearings to
be held in the City Council Chambers of the Municipal Building located at 111 N. Powell
Parkway in Anna, Texas. The Council further directs that notice of the time and place of
the public hearings be published in the official newspaper of the City as required in
Section 7.05 of the Charter.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Anna, Texas on this 7th
day of August, 2012.
